J&K Bank conducts awareness camps

SRINAGAR, Feb 12: Spreading financial awareness across the rural spaces of the State, J&K Bank conducted financial literacy camps at R S Pura, Bandipore, Kupwara and Kulgam.
The bank’s Business Unit at R S Pura in district Jammu organized a mega   financial literacy camp at village Sai today wherein, a large number of people including Sarpanches, Panches and others participated.
Speaking on the occasion, the bank’s Cluster Head, Rajesh Gupta and Head Business Unit RS Pura Vijay Kumar appraised the people about various Government sponsored schemes like PMJDY, PMJJY, PMSBY, PMMY and Atal Pension Yojna.
Meanwhile, bank’s FLCC Bandipore centre conducted various awareness camps at various places of Bandipore namely Naidkhai, Odina, Najin, Baniyari, Nowgam and Chewa. Facilitator FLCC Bandipore Abdul Satar Najar, Lead District Manager Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan and Director RSETI Parvaiz Ahmad participated in these camps wherein the participants were educated about the Jan Dhan Yojna Scheme, MUDRA and other social security schemes.
The trainees at RSETI Bandipore were educated about the schemes of the Banks like Savings Bank, Small Savings Bank, Recurring Deposit, Child Care Deposit, Educational Loans and Housing Loans.
The banks’ FLCC Kupwara organized awareness camps at Handwara and Kralgund Kupwara in collaboration with Lead District Office Kupwara wherein, a good number of people hailing from the hamlets of the respective places and adjoining areas participated.
Speaking at the camps facilitator FLCC informed the participants about opening of savings and other deposit accounts with the banks and educated them about the management and importance of money besides advantages of savings with and borrowings from the banks for their better future and overall economic development of the society. Lead District Manager Kupwara talked at length on sponsored schemes like MUDRA, SKEWPY besides explaining role of SHGs and Joint Liability Groups for establishment of income and employment generating units.
LDO RBI Anil Kumar Reshi, J&K Bank Cluster Head Reyaz Ahmad Wani, Area Manager J&K Grameen Bank Kupwara and the representatives from Sheep Husbandry, Handicrafts and Horticulture department also spoke at the camps.
The bank’s FLCC Kulgam centre organized a financial literacy camp at village Frisal in collaboration with the local business unit wherein concept and working of the JKBRSETI to a large gathering was introduced.
Speakers urged the participants to shun Government job-seeking mindset and should instead appreciate the opportunity of earning volumes by setting up their own enterprises.
Other social security schemes e.g. PMJDY, PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY were explained to the audiences.
