JK Tourism participates in India Heritage Tourism Conclave at Jaipur

JAIPUR, Feb 12: Continuing its campaign to promote various tourism products, Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department participated in the 5th India Heritage Tourism Conclave held at Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Advisor to the Governor, Parvez Dewan was special guest on the occasion.
The Conclave was organized by the PHD Chamber in collaboration with J&K and Rajasthan Tourism.
Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor highlighted the rich cultural heritage of J&K. He also invited the dignitaries to personally visit the State and experience its splendor. He deliberated on various aspects and ideas which can be explored for promotion of cultural tourism.
The Jammu Kashmir Tourism Department showcased the rich cultural heritage of the State during the tourism conclave, under the theme, ‘Preserving our past through Heritage Tourism’.
The Conclave was attended by participants from abroad and within the country including Ambassador of Bosnia to India, representatives from China, representatives of international and national media, delegates from INTACH, TAAI, travel and hotel associations.
The Jammu & Kashmir Tourism Department was represented on the occasion by Deputy Director Tourism, Kashmir, Jeelani Zargar.
Meanwhile, JK Tourism today also participated in 12th Convention of ATOI held at Hanuwantya MP with an objective to promote adventure tourism product of State. In this convention JK Tourism was awarded best State for promotion of adventure tourism.
The award was given by Union Minister for Surface Transport, Venkaiha Naidu in presence of Chief Minister MP Shiv Raj Singh,. On behalf of the J&K Tourism, award was received by CEO Patnitop, Rakesh Kumar Srangal and CEO Sonamarg Shabir Hussain Bhat.
Meanwhile, Tourism Department organised a massive road show in New Delhi’s Lalit Hotel in which North India’s prominent travel trade representatives were invited to witness the impressive presentation from the department which showcased Jammu and Kashmir as one of the best destinations for its natural beauty, landscapes, gushing water streams ,history and heritage, adventure tourism, culture, crafts and cuisine, skiing and mountaineering slopes, lake tourism, MiCE and Golf tourism .
The Secretary Tourism, Farooq Ahmed Shah briefed the gathering about the 5500 year old history of Kashmir ,the heritage and hospitality of the State for which Jammu and Kashmir is famous all over the world. He assured to provide best and upgraded services to visitors in 2016 .
Director Tourism Jammu, R.K Varma, Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah and other officials of Tourism, JKTDC and SKICC were present in the road show.
