JK Bank Chairman pays surprise visit to branches

SRINAGAR, Oct 3: The Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Mushtaq Ahmed visited several business units (bank branches) here today to review functioning of the branches which were rendering all banking facilities and services despite being holiday.
The Chairman had ordered that all the J&K Bank branches and extension counters/ business units across Kashmir valley would remain functional today for normal banking transactions. Notably, the bank branches in Kashmir shall remain open even on Sunday for normal banking services, where business hours would be from 10 am to 4 pm and working hours from 10 am to 5 pm.
During visit the Chairman interacted with the customers and he assured them hassle-free service and full support in all conditions. ” Customers’ comfort is our peace of mind. In order to obviate inconvenience to our customers which was likely to be caused due to continuous holidays ensuring Eid, we decided to keep all our branches in Kashmir valley open for all banking services and facilities today. Even the branches will be functional on Sunday (Oct 5) also,” the Chairman said.
Referring to the restoration of banking services during the catastrophe Mr Mushtaq said, ” First, let me appreciate people, especially our customers for bearing with us for first few days after floods on Sept 6/7. However, we immediately swung into action and despite connectivity constraints, we successfully got our branches and ATMs on active mode. Today, you see all our delivery points in the Valley, especially in flood affected areas are functional.”
The Bank Chairman also visited free medical camp organised by the J&K Bank at Iqbal Park Srinagar. Over 1000 patients/ visitors were examined/ treated and provided free medicines. This 4-day camp has been organised by the Bank in collaboration with local NGO Help Poor Voluntary Trust and a Delhi based J&K Flood Relief Group.
