JAMMU, May 1: With gold and diamond emerging as top investment avenues, prominent jewellers in the winter capital are offering discounts on the yellow metal and diamond to tap the buying rush on Akshaya Tritiya tomorrow.
This day is considered to be auspicious according to Hindu calendar for gems and jewellery buying. It is also the birthday of Parshurama (an incarnation of Vishnu) and marks the beginning of the Golden Age. ‘Akshaya’ meaning the never diminishing stands for eternal prosperity for any new ventures started or investment made on this day. Gold and gold jewellery bought and worn on this day signify the never diminishing good fortune.
In a step towards this, Rakesh Jewellers having its showrooms at Lakhdatta Bazar and Gandhi Nagar are offering flat 15 per cent discount on IGI Diamonds and Swiss Watches and introducing new collection in 100 per cent Hallmark Gold with purity check, said, Sahil, Owner of the Jewellery showrooms.
He said “the expensiveness is touching the sky so we are trying to do something for our valuable customers so that they can bring fortune to their future with smile”.
He further informed that the ranges start from Rs 3,000 onwards in diamonds.
Similary, Tanishq, India’s largest and most preferred jewellery brand announced exciting offers on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. Rejoicing the spirit of gold, Tanishq, is offering a free gold coin on every purchase of minimum 10 grams of gold jewellery and customers can avail upto 20 per cent off on purchase of single diamond jewellery like diamond bangles, matching diamond neckwear and earring sets worth Rs 2 lakh and above too, said Sandeep Kulhalli, vice president, Marketing and Retail, Tanishq. Customers can also opt for various installment schemes and redeem their Anuttara and Golden Harvest Scheme (GHS) points on this auspicious occasion and club with the offers, he added.
Jawahar Lal, owner, Roshan’s Jewellers, Jain Bazaar and Roshan’s The Diamond, Bahu Plaza said “we are offering 20 per cent discount on diamond jewellery during Akshaya Trithiya”. Besides, on every purchase of gold jewellery, a silver coin will be given free to the customers, he added.
“We are also offering discount on labour charges on the yellow metal”, he stated.
Silverlines is offering special rate of Rs 2799 per gram on Hallmark gold jewellery on Akshaya Trithiya, said Sanjeev Saraf, Chairman and Managing Director (MD), Silverlines Gems and Jewellery Private Limited. On every purchase of diamond jewellery, gold jewellery including gold rings and pendants will be given free to the customers, Saraf added.
Shanker Shah Jewellers, Gandhi Nagar is offering 25 per cent off on Diamond jewellery, said Rohit, owner of the Showroom.
To tap the buying rush on Akshaya Tritiya, Manik Jewellers, Gurudwara Road, Gandhi Nagar is offering 25 per cent discount on Diamond Jewellery vis-à-vis no labour charges and lowest making charges on 100 per cent BIS certified jewellery, said Vishlove Gupta, owner of Manik Jewellers.
