NEW DELHI, June 16: Jeera prices rose by 1.17 per cent to Rs 16,430 per quintal in futures trade today, supported by pickup in demand at the spot market against restricted arrivals from producing belts.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July moved up by Rs 190, or 1.17 per cent to Rs 16,430 per quintal with an open interest of 28,293 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June contracts traded higher by Rs 180, or 1.11 per cent to Rs 16,325 per quintal in 861 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in jeera prices to pickup in demand at the spot markets against restricted supplies from producing belts. (PTI)
