JAMMU, Oct 10: In order to give fillip to the ongoing developmental works, the Vice Chairman JDA, Rajesh Kumar Shavan took an extensive tour of the field. He visited Ban, Kot Bhalwal and Khanpur Nagrota to oversee the pace of developmental works.
At Khanpur Nagrota, the team of workers and Mechanics met the Vice Chairman JDA and apprised him of the problem being faced by them. They demanded black topping of Transport Yard and other civic facilities. The Vice Chairman JDA gave patient hearing and assured them of the needful action.
Later on, the Vice Chairman also inspected the work pertaining to physical verification of all assets of JDA at Khanpur.
It is pertinent to mention that JDA has started the work of identification and marking of all assets of JDA, be it shops, shopping halls or quarters in order to identify the encroachers and the rent defaulters. The Vice Chairman gave on-spot instructions to the engineering wing to make a comprehensive plan for the development of colony and also to work out modalities for staring eviction drive at Khanpur where the quarters have illegally been occupied by some outsiders.
The Vice Chairman also kick-started Rs 1.5 crore work of constructions of club building and renovation of existing community hall at Roop Nagar Colony. The said work has been started as per the demand of local residents before the Deputy Chief Minister who had assured for the needful action and directed JDA to go ahead with the project.
In the meanwhile, 48 number of plots at Gole Gujral, which were identified by the JDA after hectic efforts, were handed over to the allottees. The JDA had carved out the colony at Gole Gujral in 2014 after retrieving the land from encroachers but due to certain bottlenecks, the possession could not be handed over to the allottees despite depositing premium. The Vice Chairman was accompanied by SE Incharge, Secretary, Executive Engineer JDA Div No. II, Tehsildar JDA Zone A, AEE concerned, Chief Architect and other officials of JDA.
