JDA flats not yet ready for occupancy

Since contrary to expectations, the Jammu Development Authority has failed to stick to the timeline in making the much hyped flats under ‘Modern Housing Project” within the promised period, the prospective occupants, as a result have to wait for some more time to shift into them. As many as 72 flats, it may be recalled, at the cost of Rs.53 lakh per flat, were proposed to be constructed by the JDA at Muthi Jammu , the work on which started in the year 2015.
The buyers of these flats were expecting not this much of delay and as of now, have no concrete assurances as to when the flats would be fully completed to be occupied and used. Most of the prospective owners must have taken Bank Home loans and must be feeling the pinch a bit more because of the interest factor as also repayment of instalments while all others too have reportedly made full payments to the JDA. Not only have the ‘aggrieved’ buyers approached authorities of the JDA repeatedly but have sought the intervention of the Jammu and Kashmir Grievances Cell too. However, the latest position in respect of the matter points towards the expectations that by the end of June this year the remaining work on these flats would be completed, as per the assurances given by the VC Jammu Development Authority, and only after that the buyers could move into the flats . Let us all hope that the new deadline would not meet the fate of earlier ones.
