JDA employees continue strike on 11th consecutive day

JAMMU, June 4: Jammu Development Authority (JDA) Employees Welfare Association members continued their strike for the 11th consecutive day, today.
Amid slogans in favour of their demands, a large number of JDA employees assembled outside JDA office and held protest. They were demanding implementation of 7th Pay Commission, enhancement in the wages of the daily wagers and revocation of order for ‘no work, no pay’.
“We are on continuous protest since May 25, but no one from the administration and JDA are bothered to listen to our demands”, they alleged.
While addressing the gathering, president of the JDA Employees Welfare Association, Mohan Singh Jamwal, said that the strike would continue till the demands of the employees are agreed upon by the Vice Chairman, JDA. The work in the JDA office remained paralyzed today, he said.
Meanwhile, as a part of protest, the association decided to stop plying of all the vehicles with heads of all section with effect from today. It was also decided that no work will be allowed in the parking of JDA as such ISBT and other parking. The association also decided that no movement of Khilafwarzi wing in the field area under the authority.
As a mark of protest, the employees today suspended water and electricity supply of Bahu Plaza and Vikas Bhawan.
