JAMMU, Mar 21: An interactive session with youth from all three regions of the State was held at Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries here today.
The interactive session was a part of five-day residential workshop on ‘Conscious Leadership and Social Change’ being conducted by Yakjah Reconciliation and Development Network in association with Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Youth Development, Regional Center, Chandigarh. The workshop is being conducted at Youth Hostel Nagrota from March 18 to 22, 2017.
During the interactive session the youth interacted with the president and other office bearers of JCCI. The youth raised many issues and concerns being faced by the youth at their respective places.
“It is never too, late to start. Youth from all the three regions need to come forward and press the Government for what concerns us as a State. Let’s keep our political and ideological differences aside and come forward to promote co-existence and work towards reconciliation, harmony and development of our State,”  Rakesh Gupta, president JCCI said.
He maintained that JCCI is always available to support the young generation. He also ensured support to the budding entrepreneurs of the State. ” We are soon going to start a helpline number to make our organisation more accessible to the youth of the state to help them realise their endeavours,” Gupta said.
“We need to raise awareness among masses to get rid of the issues that have been causing a huge loss to the economy of the state,” he said.
Ashima Kaul, chairperson of Yakjah while addressing the youth said, “The development that we seek is only sustainable if our approach towards it is inclusive. Over the years, there has been a disconnect between the three regions of the State that we want to bridge by doing such workshops and related activities. This will help youth in the long run as it is them who are going to lead the society tomorrow,” Kaul added.
