Jawan’s wife beaten, robbed

JAMMU, May30: Unknown miscreants in Bishnah snatched Rs 10,000 from the wife of an army jawan and thrashed her along with her brother and damaged the car they were travelling in before escaping from the spot.
Police sources informed that an FIR has been registered in this case under different sections of IPC and investigations were underway.
They informed that the incident took place day before yesterday when Rita Devi, wife of Ashok Kumar, resident of Daler, Arnia was returning from an army camp in Arnia where she along with her brother went to sort out a matter with the officers of Ashok as he was not giving money to his wife for meeting daily expenses.
As per police relatives of Rita suspected the attack as a plot by Ashok because the miscreants had also snatched documents including those meant for joint account.
They also informed that Rita and Ashok had married only a year back.
