JAMMU, Oct 9: An Army soldier was injured in a mine blast on the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar sector of Poonch district this evening.
Injured jawan has been identified as Vijay Kumar. The Army personnel evacuated him from the site of blast in an injured condition and rushed him to the hospital. He had sustained splinter injuries in the mine explosion, reports said.
The Army jawan was part of the patrol party along LoC in Mendhar sector when he stepped over the mine, leading to a powerful blast in which he was injured.
Troops from their nearby posts rushed to the spot and evacuated the injured.
