JAMMU, Oct 9: District Jammu Boxing Championship, organized by J&K Amateur Boxing Association under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council and J&K Olympic Association concluded today at boxing ring, Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
On the occasion, Dr Ashutosh Sharma, General Secretary, J&K Olympic Association gave away prizes to the winners in presence of Vikas Gupta, Joint Secretary, Judo Federation of India, SS Gill, General Secretary, J&K Cycling Association, Vinod Bhalla, Sanjeev Jamwal, Aman Sangral, Sajjad Ahmed, Harminder Pal Singh and Manish Chatwal.
The Championship was held under the chairmanship of Rajan Sharma, General Secretary, J&K Amateur Boxing Association and Anil Wadhera, Chairman, Technical Committee J&K Amateur Boxing Association.
In women section, Sonia and Stanzin Cheemeth bagged gold and silver medals respectively in 54 kg category, whereas in 57 kg category, Sakalzang Dolma and Bala Devi secured gold and silver medals in 57 kg category.
In Junior category, Rahul Kumar, Vishal Choudhary and Rohit Kumar bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in 56 kg category, whereas in 64 kg category, Rahul Manhas, Abhishek Chauhan and Mukesh Kumar clinched gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, in 69 kg category, Dipanshu Kumar, Ahsan and Sudanshu Kapoor secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, in 81 kg category, Sanjay Sharma and Narender Singh bagged gold and silver medals respectively, while the bronze medals were bagged by Akash Bogia and Ankit Jamwal.
In Sub Junior, Piyush Dabgotra, Kartik Sharma and Raghunandan bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in 28 kg category, whereas in 30 kg category, Maan Singh, Archit and Yuvraj Chalotra bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, in 36 kg category, Mayank Chatri and Anshu Targotra bagged gold and silver medals respectively, in 40 kg category, Diyansh Upadhya and Utkarsh Gupta clinched gold and silver medals respectively, in 44 kg category, Vasi Talib and Mukesh Kumar bagged gold and silver medals respectively, while Jatin Sharma and Gurmeet Parihar bagged bronze medals, in 48 kg category, Parjwal Jamwal and Gourav Kumar bagged gold and silver medals respectively, in 50 kg category, Kamal Sharma, Aditya Kumar and Ganesh secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, in 52 kg category, Ashish Gurang and Mannat Mehta bagged gold and silver medals respectively and in 57 kg category, Stanzin Sayankal, Pranjay Jamwal and Shubham Choudhary secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
In Senior category, Ghar Singh, Rahul Kumar and Samrat Wazir bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively in 49 kg category, in 52 kg category, Vinayak Sharma and Lucky Syal bagged gold and silver medals respectively, in 56 kg category, Naveen Sharma, Mohit Kumar and Padam secured gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, in 60 kg category, Kishori Lal, Arun Goswani and Sunil Singh Mangotra bagged gold, silver and bronze medals respectively, in 84 kg category, Vishal Sharma and Vinod Kumar clinched gold and silver medals respectively, while Ayushman Dhar and Wasim Ahmed clinched bronze medals, in 69 kg category, Hari Om and Mohit Kaul bagged gold and silver medals respectively, in 75 kg category, Ricky Kumar and Akash Sharma bagged gold and silver medals respectively, while Tarun Thapa and Rishav Verma clinched bronze medals.
