JAMMU: An Army man was injured in a landmine explosion, while Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Poonch district.
Police sources said that the soldier was on a routine patrol duty at Tarkundi area of Balakote in Mendhar sector, when he accidentally stepped on a mine near the LoC.
”In the incident, the soldier of 15 Jakli sustained injuries and is being treated in a military hospital,” they said.
Meanwhile, the armies of India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the LoC in Mankote sector.
An official said that Pakistani Army opened unprovoked fire and mortar shells on the Indian Army posts in Mankote.
“Own troops also responded the fire strongly, while the cross-border shelling was on,” he added. (AGENCIES)
