MANDI, June 25: An Army soldier was killed and two others suffered injuries when lightning struck a forward post along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sawjian sector of district Poonch last night.
The incident took place late night. “Natural lightning hit an area near LoC in Sawjian village of Mandi, leaving an Army man dead and two others injured.
Sources said lightning struck late night at Khalsa Post of 40 Rashtriya Rifles along the LoC in Sawjian sector of district Poonch in which Army soldier, Mandeep Singh of 11 Garhwal Regiment died while two others were injured. Police Post Incharge Sawjian, Manzoor Ahmed confirmed the incident.
