POONCH, July 23: Senior National Conference leader and Member Legislative Assembly, Mendhar, Javed Rana today took extensive tour of rain affected areas of Chhatral, Banola, Chhungan in Mendhar constituency and took stock of the of the havoc created by incessant rains.
Recent rains have caused massive damage to the property in these areas among which Chhatral is worst -hit. Mr Rana urged the administration for immediate relief to affected families and emphasized the need for evolving a contingent plan to meet eventualities during rainy season. Mr Rana said Govt should make a comprehensive plan to tackle these issues. He expressed shock over damage to property and standing crops and said until and unless there is comprehensive plan made to tackle these issues, the public property can not be protected.
The MLA said, “We all should learn lesson from last year’s floods which devastated whole State. I think we should be ready to tackle these issues but with some concrete measures.”
