JAMMU, Feb 20: The State unit of All India Jat Mahasabha today took serious note of the brutalities meted out to Jats protesting for their legitimate rights in Haryana and urged the Central Government as well as State Government of Haryana to sort out the issue and increase/adjust the reservation quota for Jats for their upliftment.
The issue was discussed deliberately in a meeting of association held here today under the chairmanship of State president of the association, Manmohan Singh.
The meeting said Jat community, which is socially and literary a weak class was included in the OBC category by some States after a long struggle but some leaders hatched a conspiracy to remove the Jats from OBC category.
The speakers said that instead of pleading the case of Jats and explaining the SC why the Jats were included in OBC category, the Government silently accepted the verdict of the SC. “It seems that Government was itself interested in snatching the OBC category of Jats”, they added.
“Before the situation goes from bad to worse, Government should agree to the legitimate demand of Jats immediately in black and white agreement with Jat Leaders without losing time”, the meeting said and warned that if demand of Jats is not met with immediately by a meaningful dialog with the representatives of the Jats a big agitation will start in J&K also and it will spread in whole country like fire and anti nationals who are already interested to break the country will take its benefit to destabilize India.
“We on behalf of all Jats of J&K request the Central Government and State Government of Haryana to sort out the issue and increase/adjust the reservation quota for Jats for their upliftment”, the speakers said.
