HIRANAGAR, Dec 18: Appealing community for a united fight, Ch. Manmohan Singh, former Mayor and president All India Jat Maha Sabha (AIJMS) today reiterated the demand for granting OBC status to Jats on the lines of other States.
Chairing a meeting of Maha Sabha in Hiranagar, Singh asserted that without getting OBC status, the community cannot progress and will continue in the morass which currently is back-drifting Jats,” he maintained adding that OBC status is the only panacea for Jats to come out of the misery.
He said that ‘united we stand’ should be the slogan of Jats as otherwise the Government will not concede their demand.
Singh also said that already Jat Maha Sabha is taking extraordinary measures to spread awareness among community members across the Union Territory to stand for their right.
“If Center and other State Governments are giving this benefit to Jats then there is no logic of denying the same in J&K,” he said.
