PUDUCHERRY, Feb 14: A three day Jashn-e-Kashmir was inaugurated today by the Chief Minister of Pondicherry Thiru N Rangasamy at historical place Gandhi Thidal, Beach Road, Puducherry.
Speaker Thiru V Sabapathy, Minister for Electricity, Education, Art and Culture Thiru T Thiagarajan, MP Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha, Members of Legislative Assembly, higher-ups from Administration including Chief Secretary of Puducherry Thiru Manoj Parida, Dr EN Sajith, Director, South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur were present on the occasion.
This mega event was joint venture being organized at Puducherry by the South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur and Department of Art and Culture, Government of Puducherry.
Secretary, Department of Art and Culture Dr A Muthamma, presented the welcome address and highlighted the aims and objects of this mega event.
Director said that J&K State, which comprises of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh is known for his rich and diverse culture and our aim was to showcase the diverse culture to the Puducherians to make them aware about the rich cultural heritage of this State.
Secretary, J&K, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Dr Aziz Hajini and his team of officials led by Ashok Gupta, Editor and Nazir Ahmed, SOCA, Kargil were also present.
More than 150 artistes from J&K State are taking part in this mega event. In addition to it, local teams of Puducherry are also a part of this event. These teams of J&K and Puducherry will showcase their different shades of culture of their respective areas at three different places.
