Japan big manuf mood worsens in April-June – Govt

TOKYO, June 13:   Sentiment at large Japanese manufacturers worsened for the second consecutive quarter in April-June, but companies revised up their capital expenditure plans in a sign the economy could maintain strength. The business survey index (BSI) of sentiment at large manufacturers stood at minus 11.1 in April-June, compared with minus 7.9 in January-March, according to a joint survey by the Ministry of Finance and the Economic and Social Research Institute, an arm of the Cabinet Office. The BSI measures the percentage of firms that expect the business environment to improve from the previous quarter minus the percentage that expect it to worsen.  (AGENCIES)
