JAMMU, Aug 10: J&K Dharmarth Trust is organizing a grand ‘Rath Yatra’ on August 18, 2022 to celebrate Shri Krishna Janmashtami.
In this connection, Ajay Gandotra, president Dharmarth Trust here today called a meeting of presidents of various market associations in which Dr. Gopal Parthasarthi Sharma, Trust secretary; administrative officer, Manmohan Singh and assistant manager, Raghunath Temple, Sandeep Kumar were also present.
Gandotra said that the Trust is going to hold grand ‘Rath Yatra’ on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami on August 18 after a gap of two years due to Coronavirus restrictions.
He also said that Shobha Yatra shall be conducted in collaboration with Sanatan Dharam Sabha.
“This year the Yatra will be taken out from Raghunath Bazaar instead of going through Residency Road as per the past practice,” Trust president said adding: “The Shobha Yatra will cover the traditional route this year commencing from Raghunathji Temple and after passing through various markets including Raghunath Bazaar, City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Link Road, Jain Bazaar, Chowk Chabutra, Pacca Danga, Moti Bazaar, Raj Tilak Road, Old Hospital Road, Kanak Mandi, Rajinder Bazaar and Residency Road, it will culminate at Shri Raghunath Ji Temple.”
Heads of various market associations assured full cooperation in making Shobha Yatra a great success.
Among others present in the meeting were Sanjay Gupta, president RBBA; Amit Goel, general secretary; Anoop Mittal, president Kanak Mandi Market Association; Rajinder Gupta, president Link Road Market Association; Harish Gupta, president Pacca Danga Market Association; Dharam Pal Dogra, vice president Pacca Danga Market Association; Rakesh Verma, president Chowk Chabutra Upper Bazar Market Association; Raman Gandotra, secretary general Rajinder Bazaar Market Association and Ishaan Mahajan, president Lakhdata Bazar Market Association.
Prabhat Singh, general secretary Sanatan Dharam Sabha also participated virtually in the meeting.
