Janaushadhi scheme is supporting poor, middle class families: Priya

KATHUA, Sept 27: Senior BJP leader ,Incharge party headquarter and former Minister, Priya Sethi today said that BJP Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving focused attention to girls health and hygiene under its flagship programme Beti Bachao Baeti Padhao (BBBP).
Priya Sethi, who is also State incharge BBBP was speaking as a special guest during a programme organized under BBBP campaign to disburse over 3000 sanitary napkins among women folk here at Dyala Chak. Gurmeet Randhawa, co-incharge BBBP also accompanied the former Minister.
The programme was conceived and executed by the district convenor, BBBP Rimi Charak and Sushma Jee
The former Minister said that the programme regarding distribution of sanitary napkins has been organized under Sewa Hi Samarpan Abhiyan, which is being organized to mark the birthday of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi on September 17.
“The campaign was started on September 17 and will culminate on October 7, the day PM Modi first took oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.
She said while addressing Janaushadhi Diwas celebrations and interacting with beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana, through video conferencing in March this year the Prime Minister said this scheme is helping to provide cheap medicines to the citizens living in tribal areas in the Northeast and in the mountainous areas.
“Today when the 7500th centre has been inaugurated in Shillong, it is clear from this how much public health centres are expanding in the Northeast. “We had less than 100 Janaushadhi centres till 2014,. We want to reach the target of opening 10,000 centres very soon. I want to request State governments to take a pledge for 75 Janaushadhi centres each in 75 districts on the 75th year of our independence,”. “We should also set a target of double the beneficiaries of Janaushadhi centres,” she said while quoting PM.
Priya said today’s programme has been designed to raise awareness regarding the education, health and hygiene of the girls in the society. She along district president BJP Kathua, Gopal Mahajan, Women Wing leader, Geeta Bhagat and others also addressed a programme at CMP School, Dayala Chak, Kathua.
