POONCH, Apr 28: Ajaz Jan, Provincial president of YNC and former MLA, stressed the importance of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in safeguarding the distinctive identity of people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The senior NC leader was speaking while addressing a public meeting held at Kusalian in district Poonch, in support of NC Lok Sabha candidate for Rajouri-Poonch-Anantnag constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmed. This meeting was organised by Mohd Sadiq, ex- Sarpanch, Gulpur Kusalian.
In his address, Ajaz Jan strongly criticized the BJP Government at the Centre for its failure to prioritize the development of rural areas in the region. He spoke about the deplorable condition of road connectivity, the issue of inflated and double power bills burdening the people, the lack of availability of Government ration, and the scarcity of drinking water supply. These challenges had a detrimental impact on the lives of the local population.
Jan emphasized that the forthcoming Lok Sabha election is not just an ordinary political event, but a critical opportunity to safeguard the distinct identity of Jammu and Kashmir. He called upon the people to unite and extend their support by ensuing maximum participation and voting for the National Conference candidate, Mian Altaf Ahmed to uphold the interests and aspirations of the local people.
Mohd Sadiq, ex-Sarpanch, echoed Ajaz Jan’s sentiments on the importance of preserving the region’s identity during the Lok Sabha elections. He emphasized the need for unity and collective action to address the pressing issues facing rural areas.
Ch Maxood reiterated the urgency of supporting the National Conference candidate, Mian Altaf emphasizing his track record of advocating for the welfare of the region.
