JAMMU, Dec 12: National Conference candidate for Jammu West, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal today exhorted women electors to participate in large number in the ongoing democratic process and be a decisive factor in electing a stable and strong Government led by Omar Abdullah.
During his meeting, organized by the Women Wing of National Conference, Mr Jamwal described women as strong support base of National Conference, saying they have always got opportunities in decision making.
He referred to the pioneering initiatives taken by his party in ensuring reservation for the women in Panchayats and other democratic institutions and referred to the initiatives of National Conference in taking bold measures about female literacy and women empowerment since decades.
During his door to door campaign in Old Rehari, New Plot and Naraina Mohalla, Mr Jamwal urged the voters to come forward and vote for complete change over of the constituency in terms of development and implementation of various schemes tailored for the capital cities.
He unfolded his vision about the constituency and said development will remain guiding philosophy for him in the next six years. He said his endeavour will also be to seek the inclusion of Jammu in the central initiative of smart cities so that the constituency develops on modern lines.
Mr Jamwal said National Conference has taken several steps in the Jammu city for its development notwithstanding the fact that the two important constituencies were represented by BJP, which almost abandoned these to seek redressal to their personal problems.
The National Conference candidate hoped that the people will cast their votes for a stable Government which can take care of the urges and aspirations of all the three regions and their sub regions.
