Jammu woman Sangeeta ready to climb Mt. Everest

JAMMU, May 17: Born and brought up in Jammu, 52-year old Sangeeta Bahl is waiting in the wings at the base camp18, 000 feet above the sea level today, attempting to scale Mount Everest.
Sangeeta, the only Indian climber among other 10 climbers across the world, will be leaving for Camp-Two 21,500 ft high at 2 am tomorrow and after staying for a day there, will leave for camp-3 at the height of 23,000 ft on May 20, 2017 and after a one-day stay, will move to camp-4 at a height of 26,000 ft, while May 22 or 23 will be the summit day. She will return within two days.
While talking to EXCELSIOR from the base camp, Sangeeta said that it was a great, excellent rather an ecstatic feeling to be there and vie for the summit.
She said that it was snowing earlier and now it feels nice as the weather conditions have drastically improved.
Bahl said that she has a dream to scale 7 summits of the world and she has already scaled 5 out of these 7 summits, adding that if successful, it will be her 6th summit.
Sangeeta, who in her school days studied in Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School Jammu, first climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa at the age of 46 along with her husband, Ankur Bahl, who was her partner in the 5th summit last year also.
Sangeeta has a son in Arnav, who is studying at Doon School.
Sangeeta, a successful Entrepreneur, who balances professional duties with family and social responsibilities with ease and flair, is making everyone sit up and exclaim “How does she do it all? ” .
A perfect example of beauty, talent, grace and acumen, Sangeeta has conquered many facets of life and the latest in her list of to-do is climbing Mt. Everest at the age of 52 in order to prove that age is just a number.
Apart from a mountaineer/climber, Sangeeta is a Founder, Director and Image Consultant of Impact Image Consultants, based in Gurgaon, serving Individuals and Corporates, seeking help with their personal image and style.
A self-made woman, who started working at a tender age of 16, Sangeeta dabbled in modeling and did a stint in TV Serials too. Then from being a Miss India Finalist to Cabin Services Director whilst flying for Emirates Airlines, everything has added to her rich experience.
Sangeeta was the first certified Image Consultant in India from the Association of Image Consultants International, USA as well as being the only Indian among 19 International Consultants to have co-authored a book titled “Executive Etiquette Power” released in the USA.
Apart from work and family, Sangeeta is truly passionate about women causes, especially the ones haunting the women back in her home town and in India in general.
What is more interesting is that despite having such a busy life, Sangeeta started mountaineering at the age of 46 and is on a roll to climb her 6th summit of the world.
