Jammu turns dirty city, not smart city under BJP: Bhalla

JAMMU, Mar 5: Former minister and PCC vice president, Raman Bhalla has said that BJP had promised Jammu to become smart city but regretted that it has ranked as one of the dirtiest city in the country under BJP regime.
Questioning BJP for its utter failure on the developmental promises to develop Jammu as a smart city and to beautify for tourist attraction, Jammu city has been ranked as one of the dirtiest city in recent survey. He said that BJP has been ruling Jammu directly and indirectly for the last over 6 years and has turned it as one of the dirtiest city with all developmental and beautification projects initiated by Congress led UPA are still in limbo.
Addressing a meeting of Congress workers at PCC head office Shahidi Chowk Jammu today, organized to pay floral tributes to Anil Chopra (Former DCC Jammu president) on his 2nd death anniversary, Bhalla said that BJP is indulging in the process of naming of places and chowks and other such diversionary tactics because it has utterly failed in the process of the delivery of promises to the people of Jammu. He said that Jammu BJP leaders are only `paper tigers’ and expert in coining slogans and change nomenclature instead of delivering goods to people.
Bhalla described Late Copra a grass root leader of the party who always remained attached to party workers and common people of the state. His contribution as political leader and as District president was commendable, who always raised voice of the poor and downtrodden sections of the society.
DCC president Kathua, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that Anil Chopra was known in the party rank and file for his simplicity, honesty, commitment and dedication towards the service of people, especially the downtrodden and poor. He rose to the position in the party from the grass root level by the dint of his hard work.
The function was organized by DCC Jammu (urban) and attended by a large number of people including prominent leaders of the Congress party, sympathizers and family friends of Late Anil Chopra.
Senior leaders Vikram Malhotra (DDC Jammu-U president), Krishan Lal Gupta, Suresh Dogra, Mian Nazir Ahmed, Sanjeev Panda, Dwarka Choudhary, Kamal Singh, Ch Sobat Ali, Gourav Chopra, Ritu Choudhary, Pritam Singh, Rashpal Bhardwaj, Rajinder Sing Jamwal, and other leaders also paid floral tributes to Late Chopra.
