Jammu reports below 100 cases after 87 days, no COVID death

6 succumb to virus in Kashmir

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, June 28: Jammu region today recorded below 100 COVID positive cases after 87 days and no casualty after about 80 days while six persons succumbed to the virus in Kashmir.
Jammu region reported 90 cases only today. On April 1, the region had registered 73 cases which went up to 100 on April 2 and kept on rising. The cases touched around 1800 on May 12 when second COVID wave was at its peak before the decline started.
No Corona casualties were reported in the region today after 80 days.
Among 90 fresh cases, 29 were recorded in Reasi district and all of them were travelers, most of whom tested positive for the virus at Katra Railway Station while 14 cases were registered at Kishtwar, 12 Rajouri, nine Doda, eight Poonch, seven Ramban, four Kathua, three Samba and two each in Jammu and Udhampur districts.
As against 90 cases, 179 persons today recovered from the virus. Jammu region now has 1,19,425 Coronavirus cases including 2020 active positives, 1,15,305 recoveries and 2100 deaths.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 23 positive cases including 20 in Leh district and three in Kargil.
No COVID casualties were reported in Ladakh today.
Ladakh’s Corona count now stood at 19964. Of them, 281 are active positives cases, 19481 recoveries and 202 fatalities—144 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 169 cases of COVID-19 while six persons succumbed to the viral infection.
Out of six deaths, 4 were reported from SMHS hospital Srinagar, one at SKIMS Soura and one at District Hospital Pulwama.
Srinagar reported 64 cases, Baramulla 13, Budgam 12, Pulwama 14, Kupwara 31, Anantnag 11, Bandipora 10, Ganderbal 6, Kulgam 6 and Shopian 2.
As per officials figures, 69,832 positive cases including 827 deaths and 67,057 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,183 including 278 deaths and 22,646 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,507 including 22,001 recoveries and 204 deaths are from Budgam, 14,849 including 14,432 recoveries and 190 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,765 including 163 deaths and 13,271 recoveries are from Kupwara, 16,018 including 15,503 recoveries and 199 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,279 cases including 9,007 and 100 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,567 including 9,299 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Ganderbal, 11,016 including 10,691 recoveries and 115 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,549 including 5,472 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 195,565 including 190,379 recoveries and 2,210 deaths .
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,996 including 2,976 from Kashmir division.
With 549 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 305,684 which is 97,05 percent of the total cases.
