JAMMU, Nov 16: National Conference candidate for Jammu West, Dharamvir Singh Jamwal while unfolding his vision of remodeling the capital city as a vibrant city with focus on utility services, civic amenities and overall beautification, said that Jammu qualifies for being developed as a smart city and NC will pursue it with Centre forcefully.
Interacting with cross section of people at Amphalla, Karan Nagar, Janipur and the Canal Road, Jamwal said, “We will not dither from our efforts of making the city as a model in consonance with its glorious heritage and ethos”. He expressed hope that the people will join these endeavours and help in pushing things in right direction.
Referring to the initiatives taken by the Omar led Government during the past nearly six years, Jamwal said sewerage, road development and upgradation of civic facilities have got impetus, as a result of which the capital city has witnessed transformation.
“These efforts are needed to be carried forward for making Jammu a befitting tourism cum pilgrim destination, especially as over 50,000 people keep coming and going from different parts of the country each day”, he asserted.
Jamwal also pointed out the steps taken for regularizing various colonies and improving faculties there, maintaining high standards of health and hygiene, upgradation of roads besides ensuring smooth functioning of various utility services. “With support of the people, we will achieve the mission of transforming Jammu as a vibrant and model city”, he maintained.
The NC candidate gave an overview of the achievements registered under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, saying that making administration responsive and accountable besides speeding up development has been hallmark.
Former Minister Rampal, Chander Mohan Sharma, Tara Chand, Shabir Samyal, Sucha Singh, Rahul Sharma, Pinki Bhat and Ashok Singh Manhas also interacted with the people and sought their support for Dharamvir Singh Jamwal.
