Jammu Open Table Tennis C’ship commences

JAMMU, May 6: Jammu Open Table Tennis Champio-nship, being organised by City Police Station under its Civic Action Programme commenced at indoor sports complex MA Stadium here today.
The chief guest for the opening ceremony was Superintendent of Police (SP) City Dr Vinod Kumar.
While declaring the championship open, he encouraged the young players to give their best and play with right spirit of the game. Varun Jandial, SDPO City and Vishal Sharma, SHO City Police Station were also present on the occasion.
A total of 150 participants are taking part in various age categories.
In Cadet Boys (U-12) First Round, Yuvi beat Aman 2-0, Aarit beat Vashisht by 2-1, Sourav beat Athayan 2-0, Vivek beat Gurshan by 2-1, Tejas beat Archit by 2-1 and Madhav beat Amay by 2-1.
In Girls (U-17) First Round, Iknoor beat Kavya by 2-0, Sanya beat Ridhi by 2-0, Divyanshi beat Dhwani by 2-1, Gouri beat Sameera by 2-01, Vibhuti beat Hargun by 2-0, Ragini beat Mahika by 2-01 and Mehak beat Shumbhima by 2-1.
In Sub Junior Boys (U-14) First Round, Saksham beat Gurmehar by 2-0, Adhyan beat Manit by 2-0, Gurshan beat Vashist by 2-0, Tejas beat Pratham by 2-0, Archit beat Amit by 2-1, Raagdeep beat Manik by 2-0, Manya beat Rajeshwar by 2-1, Arya Gupta beat Hyaan by 2-0 and Anirudh beat Yuvi by 2-0.
