Jammu city is growing rapidly. It is witnessing horizontal as well as vertical expansion. Besides it is leaving the influx of people from rural areas, who come here for livelihood.
Jammu city is also brasts of a big railway station where tourist/pilgrims come and go in lakhs. Then there is the presence of around forces, who are stationed here in great numbers in view of being a border State. All this factors put a tremendous pressure on the city.
To cope with this stress and to provide services to this chunk of population, it is necessary that the master plan takes care of these parameters. Things ignored at this stage will prove quite problematic in the future.
Therefore, every details should be incorporated in the master plan.
