This has reference to the news item ‘Family seeks prisoner’s body from Pak’ DE Jan 29.
The death of a Jammu prisoner as reported in a Pakistani jail after he was beaten up by the prison authorities underlines the fact that the Indian prisoners in Pak jails are treated in an inhuman way.
They do not get the treatment they deserve. In India, Pakistani prisoners are provided all that. They are entitled to according to Prison manual.
The Government of India should raise this issue with the concerned Pak authorities, so that prisoners there are treated in a human way.
