Jammu Mahotsav concludes

JAMMU, Feb 11: Jammu Mahotsav-2019, which began with a bang on February 8, culminated today with very scintillating performances by the daughters of soil Sushmita Banerjee, Sonali Dogra and Sharry Mann who enthralled the audience in thousands.
During these three days, the Directorate of Tourism Jammu organized cultural programmes, Nukkad Natak, displayed ethnic food stalls, departmental stalls and many other activities at Bus Stand Katra, Mansar, Chichi Mata, Bagh-e-Bahu, Mubarak Mandi, Jammu, Suchetgarh and Yatri Niwas, Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu.
It was a great success and the people cutting across the social and religious lines appreciated the efforts made to promote important tourist destinations in and around Jammu through such cultural and unique colourful events like Jammu Mahotsav. Purpose of organizing Jammu Mahotsav was to involve people in large numbers in all these activities and to make them aware about the importance of these important destinations carrying huge tourism potential. People were also made aware about the importance of promotion of tourism in the region and its impact in boosting economy of the State.
On last day of this event, 2nd Jammu Sidhra Golf Cup Tournament was also organized by the Directorate of Tourism in collaboration with Secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course Hitesh Gupta wherein, 24 Four-balls participated. It was unique experience in itself.
The cultural programmes conducted during Jammu Mahotsav at Bagh-e-Bahu and Mubarak Mandi complex had a great impact on the audience and the people in large numbers participated in these programmes.
Advisor Khurshid Ahmad Ganai has directed the Director Tourism to make all out efforts to give due publicity to all the prominent places in and around Jammu City for attracting a considerable percentage of pilgrims visiting Mata Vaishno Deviji Shrine. He desired that the Jammu Mahotsav be expanded for seven days in future and should be celebrated in all Districts of the Province.
Director Tourism, Jammu has appreciated the contribution of various departments, Civil and Police administration and others who played major role in making the event a grand success.
