JAMMU: The Crime Branch wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police has unearthed a scam and booked a Pakistani national for managing Permanent Resident Certificates (state subjects) of Jammu and Kashmir in compliance with the revenue officials.
A complaint was lodged by one Renu Bala, wife of Brij Mohan, resident of Azad Colony, Lower Roop Nagar, Jammu with the Crime Branch alleging that one Ashok Kumar, resident of Udhaywalla, at present Shiv Nagar, Jammu being a resident of Pakistan was not entitled to be the Permanent Resident of the State, but he in connivance with the Revenue officials procured a reserved category certificate by forging the records and the documents.
”The complainant also alleged that his name was shown in the voter list of 1984 as Ashok Kumar, son of Sant Ram, whereas in the caste certificate it was shown as Ashok Kumar, son of Anant Ram,” said the spokesman adding that other persons identified as Ram Lal, son of Late Anant Ram, Kamal Kishore, son of Ram Lal and Brij Mohan, son of Ram Lal also applied for the issuance of SC category certificate by projecting the accused Ashok Kumar to be the real brother.
”All of them obtained the category certificates on the basis of forged documents in connivance with the revenue officials,” he added.
”During the course of verification it was found that Ashok Kumar, Ram Lal, Kamal Kishore and Brij Mohan got the PRC certificates issued by using the Revenue documents of one Pishori Lal, son of Anant Ram, who was not even remotely connected with them,” Mubassir Latifi, SSP Crime Branch here said.
The SSP said that offences committed are punishable and thus, accordingly the cases have been registered and investigations started. (AGENCIES)
