SRINAGAR, Jul 25: Government has setup helplines in all the districts of the valley for Kashmiri students and businessmen stationed outside the State in case they need any assistance.
The helplines have been setup in view of a communication curb imposed in the valley, where mobile internet was suspended on July 9, while cellular services of all companies were snapped for the 12th day today.
An official spokesperson here this evening said the residents of Jammu and Kashmir working outside the State and the students hailing from the State, studying in various parts of the country, have been asked to contact the Deputy Commissioners of their native districts in case they need of any help or assistance.
The gag is giving sleepless nights to hundreds of Kashmiri students and businessmen living in different parts of the country, who have been unable to contact their families in the valley, where protest strike has been extended till July 29.
Kashmiris outside the valley are seeking help from local media houses, which are flooded with messages from people residing in different parts of the country, to get in touch with their relatives. However, the reach of the messages on websites is limited as majority of the people in the valley don’t have access to them, due to a curb on mobile internet.
