JAMMU, Mar 5: The management committee of Makka Masjid, Bathindi Jammu, which has been organizing free community kitchen and arranging accommodation to thousands of stranded passengers from Kashmir Valley and other districts of Jammu province, has invited other social and religious organizations of Jammu to form a broader platform to extend helping hand to the suffering humanity at any time in future.
“We all are humans first and members of any religion or ethnic group at a subsequent stage. And if we can serve and save the humanity, we have served all and if we fail at such crucial times, our failure shall be a reflection of our weakness despite of our inner strength, which shall be an unpardonable sin,” said the management committee in a statement issued here today.
Inviting other social and religious organizations of Jammu to form a broader platform for extending helping hand to suffering humanity here at any time in future, the management committee said that people of Jammu always remain united for such purpose and this was also exhibited in past and in recent crisis. We resolve to do the same in future to show the world how a responsible citizenry behaves during testing times, the statement added.
The management committee of Makka Masjid also expressed gratitude to the Governor J&K, Red Cross, Army and all other social organizations and individuals for their humanitarian help in different ways to the committee in organizing free langar and arranging free accommodation to thousands of stranded passengers due to frequent closure of national highway and other roads coupled with other law and order issues.
“Our drive was to serve the humanity during crisis irrespective of caste, creed, colour, region and religion. We have received tremendous support from all segments of society during these days, which suggests that the instinct of service of humanity can keep the flag of humanity always high,” said the committee and placed on record the positive role played by Police Station Trikuta Nagar.
