Jagti township faces acute water crisis: AIMCCC

JAMMU, Aug 20:A meeting of All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) held at Jagti today expressed grave concern over the prevailing water scarcity in the township.
The meeting, which was chaired by the president of the Committee, Desh Ratan Pandita said that the inmates of the township are in grave trouble due to water scarcity. It accused the Engineering Wing of the Relief Organization for deliberately sabotaging the demand of the inmates of the township for construction of Bore Well in the area and said that when it is successfully functioning in nearby local area why can’t it function in Jagti township which is at a stones throw from the local village.
The meeting said that the supplying water from river Tawi to the township has proved a total failure and the inmates of Jagti township have been put to lot of trouble. Moreover the water supplied from the river is totally impure which can spread epidemic in the area, it added.
The meeting also demanded that the quarters which have been unnecessary kept under lock by some families who are not residing there be got vacated and allotted to genuine people who are unable to pay the rent outside.
