JAMMU, Nov 25: Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Elementary Teacher Training (ETT) Colleges today served three days ultimatum to Board of School Education (BOSE), for redressal to their demands, otherwise, they will hold hunger strike from November 29 in its premises.
This was disclosed by Hari Dutt Shishu, Convener, JAC of ETT Colleges during a press conference here this morning.
He said that approximately 500 ETT colleges, which created revenue of over Rs 40 crore in J&K Board, Rs 5 crore to the School Education Department and also created earning for thousands of unemployed youth have been scuttled to death.
He said that, in ETT session 2007-09 when the number of colleges was approximately 150, total number of students enrolled in this course was 51000, adding, that there are only 1463 applications against 550 colleges in present session, which speaks the volume of the inefficiency of the Chairman of BOSE.
He said that it is for the first time ever in the history of any educational organization that a full-fledged session of 2010-12 was declared zero.
“It is very unfortunate that despite commitment of the Chairman to regularize the students of session 2011-13, the stake holders are running from pillar to post to get the same done”, he alleged.
ETT colleges, to whom the new NOCs have been granted, are being harassed and have been denied the right to admit students in the session 2011-13, he said, adding, that the BOSE with malafide intentions has failed to approve the students of ETT.
