JAMMU, Aug 28: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of the General Categories and Jammu Kashmir General Category Welfare Forum resolved to launch mass campaign to create awareness among the general category people.
In a meeting of the JAC held under the leadership of Ved Parkash Sharma, president Brahman Sabha; Narayan Singh president Rajput Sabha and Sayed Shamim Ahmed, Chairman JKGCWF here today, the members stressed upon the Government to provide reservation on the economic basis. They also hoped that Government would be able to restore normalcy in the State shortly and accorded full support for the cause.
The JAC and Forum members resolved to launch a mass campaign at grass root level so as to create awareness about the policies of Government to the down trodden sections of the society and expose the rich who still are enjoying the benefits of caste based reservation at the cost of poor and needy people. The members also requested the Government to expedite the disposal of the petition challenging High Court judgment on ‘no reservation in promotions’.
