JAMMU, Aug 28: A woman was killed while her husband was injured when the scooty on which they were travelling, was hit by an Alto car at Bawe-da-Talab area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, an Alto car bearing registration number JK02AW-6701 collided head on with a scooty bearing registration number JK02AW-0617, this afternoon at Bawe-da Talab area falling within the limits of police station Kanachak. He said that in the mishap, the couple identified as Dev Raj (46) son of Shallo Ram, a resident of Simbli (Kanachak) and his wife Neeru Kumari (40) received serious injuries. “They were immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where the woman succumbed to her injuries at about 7.30 pm”, he added.
“The body of the deceased woman was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem while a case in this connection was registered at police station Kanachak”, he said, adding both the vehicles involved in the mishap have been seized.
