POONCH, June 23: To boost the tourism in the area, District administration Poonch in collaboration with Tourism Department organised “Jabbi Virsa folk festival” at Jabbi meadow, hemlet in far flung area of Tehsil Mandi in Poonch.
Official sources said that during this one day event, treking of about 2:30 hours was done from base camp to Jabbi, after which cultural fest, sports, sight seeing and Music art activities were conducted there.
During the event, Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M Choudhary along with many other Administrative Officers, SSP Poonch Vinay Sharma, Chairperson District Development Council, Tazeem Akhter, BDC Mandi, Shamim Ganai, Molvi fareed, several elected representatives and people of adjoining panchayats, social workers, political people remain present in all the activities.
Pertinent to mention that the then DC Poonch Rahul Yadav visited there in 2020 after which some works were executed by the department and now DC Poonch has again visited there after which people put forth the demand to construct road upto Bagsar area and to develop other infrastructure so that tourist may be attracted.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch and CEO Tourism Tanveer Ahmed said that many projects had already been taken up to boost the tourism in this area and it will be ensured that they may get completed soon and all other steps shall be taken due to which foot fall of tourists will be increased.
