POONCH, Sept 23: Disallowing medical team from collecting COVID sample of a deceased lady triggered the authorities to order suspension of her son.
An order by Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Rahul Yadav stated that Junior Assistant, Shubham Sharma was put under suspension as he violated COVID-19 related SOPs when he along with his relatives stopped the medical team from collecting COVID sample from the body of his deceased mother.
Sharma and his relatives then took the dead body for cremation.
The health authorities intimated that the lady died of suspected Corona infection and was symptomatic.
The order also stated that behaviour of Shubham Sharma may put lives of general public into grave risk and danger so he was suspended and attached in Deputy Commissioner Office Poonch.
The Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar shall initiate disciplinary action against Sharma and submit the action taken report to the office of DC Poonch while the SHO Mendhar Police Station shall register an FIR, against all those involved in stopping the health team from collecting the sample, under Disaster Management Act and other relevant laws.
