JAMMU, Feb 27: International Volunteer Foundation (IVF) submitted report on Rehan Basera to DC Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu.
The report was submitted to the DC Jammu by Chairman International Volunteer Foundation (IVF) Kiran Kumar Sharma.
In the report, it was highlighted that 29 poor and shelter-less people availed the facilities of the Basera and District Red Cross Society is providing the beddings and blankets to the beneficiaries.
According to the report, night drives were also undertaken in the ambulance by the volunteers of Red Cross and representatives of IVF in order to reach various spots, where people sleep openly under the flyover bridges, footpaths, parks, etc and shifted most of them to the shelter during the period.
The report reads that the IVF looks after the shelter, maintains the record of the beneficiaries, ensures health of the beneficiaries, hygiene and cleanliness in the shelter and reports day-to-day activities to the administration and shares problems with the allied system.
The police department has a regular watch on the activities of the beneficiaries to avoid conflicts in the shelter, the report reads.
In the report, IVF recommended that such shelters should also be opened at suitable places in different parts of the Jammu and also recommended that civil societies, NGOs, voluntary organizations, social workers and youth must be involved in this humanitarian works.
It is to mention that, Rehan Basera is being run by the District Administration Jammu in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society, District Branch Jammu, Jammu Municipal Corporation and IVF.
