Driver killed as oil tanker plunges into nallah

RAMBAN, Feb 27: A driver was killed, when the oil tanker he was driving landed into Bisleri nallah near Chambalwas in tehsil Banihal today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK01R-4765 was on its way to Srinagar from Jammu, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle plunged into Bisleri nallah near Chambalwas in tehsil Banihal, resulting into on the spot death of the driver.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot, retrieved the dead body of the driver and shifted the same to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal.
The deceased has been identified as Abdul Rehman Sofi, son of Ghulam Qadir Sofi, a resident of Pantha Chowk, Srinagar.
The body has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case in this regard has been registered at Banihal police station and investigation started.
