It took Govt teacher 18 years to prove that he is alive: PDP MLA

SRINAGAR: Taking a jibe at the civil administration over alleged level of corruption imbedded in its roots, a ruling Peoples Democratic Party MLA claimed that it took a teacher, from Kernah in north Kashmir, 18 years to prove that he is not dead in Government records.

“Under mistaken identity, a Government employee by the name of Hashim from Kernah constituency in north Kashmir, was declared dead. He ran from pillar to post, but due to corruption and inefficiency of our Government offices, it took him 18 years to prove that he was alive,” PDP MLA Raja Manjoor Dar said while discussing Budget 2016-17 in the Legislative Assembly.

Talking about the need to make Government officials accountable, he said if the State wants to progress, it needs to improve on the delivery system of its administration. (AGENCIES)
