India slams Pak for attempting to internationalise Kashmir issue

NEW DELHI: India today dismissed Pakistan’s claims on Kashmir, saying that there were no global dimensions of the matter, except in the minds of those who seek to internationalise a bilateral problem.

The External Affairs Ministry also rejected the statement made by Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain that  Kashmir was the main cause of tension in the region.

“Kashmir is not the main cause of tension. The lack of peace and continued instability in the region is due to externally sponsored terrorism and Pakistan’s interference in the internal affairs of India,” MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup said in his weekly media briefing. (AGENCIES)
