JAMMU, May 22: National Awami United Party (NAUP) president Sandeep Singh has criticized the LG administration of opening more than 250 wine shops in Jammu province and not created a single job for local educated youth.
“In previous years we feel proud of saying that Jammu is a city of temples but after some time it turns into Jammu smart city but LG Manoj Sinha and their bureaucrats has renamed Jammu the city of wine shops. They have no feeling of opening a wine shop near or in front of a temple or a school,” Singh added while addressing a press conference here today.
The NAUP president reminds the LG and his qualified team the words of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of zero tolerance policy against drugs but the meanings have been changed in Jammu as this Government is not taking liquor in drugs list so they have the planning to open wine shops in every nook and corner of Jammu province.
Singh asked the LG administration to stop this practice and issue a white paper on liquor policy of Jammu and Kashmir. “As everyone is talking about the fraud like Delhi type liquor policy, people of Jammu wants to know as to how much jobs has been created with this liquor policy,” he said.
Other prominent NAUP leaders present in the conference were Balwan Chand, Balvir Kumar, Shankar Chand and Ashwani Kumar.
