‘Stop promoting hatred, division’

JAMMU, Mar 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Congress Committee has said that it’s time to heal old painful wounds and isolate fundamentalists and radical forces to defeat the Pakistan designs on Kashmir.
JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma has said that there is no denial that what happened in 1990 with the Kashmiri Pandits is very shocking and painful and a blot and crime against humanity.
Nothing can heal their wounds and no amount of money can compensate them, which is understood by everyone, especially those who underwent the much worst destruction and deaths in the holocaust of 1947.
“Being a DP from PoJK, himself, I too realise the pain and sufferings of displaced people but the world has moved further, to bring the upcoming generations out of the trauma and shock in order to prepare them to face the new challenges. Knowing history is alright but learning lessons from history, is rather more important. The nefarious designs & conspiracy of Pakistan and radicals has not succeeded so far and it has to be fully defeated at all costs by bridging the gap and broken relationships especially those who have realised the loss of generations on the path of self destruction. This fact can also not be ignored that thousands of other Hindus, Sikhs and large number of Muslims also became victims of this senseless and endless violence and even presently becoming target of selective killings,” Sharma maintained.
“The Government of the day which was supported by BJP at the Centre, can’t absolve itself of the sin of the sufferings and killings of the displaced Kashmiri community. Unfortunately, the present Govt in office for over seven years, has also failed to take any major initiative for their return and rehabilitation and of their children. Only the ongoing projects, schemes and packages of Dr Manmohan Singh led UPA Government are being carried forward, on a very slow pace only and there is nothing new for them except crocodile tears for gaining sympathy of crores of countrymen with an eye on votes,” JKPCC leader claimed.
Congress spokesperson said the Government can’t absolve itself of the continued violence and targeted killings of minority communities and pro- India forces in Kashmir and elsewhere and should take firm result oriented steps for their return, rehabilitation and settlement in an atmosphere of security and harmony by bridging the gaps in communities and not by further vitiating the atmosphere by promoting hatred and division.
