JAMMU, Jan 30: Director Command Area Development A K Malhotra today said that Irrigation plan of each district is to be prepared jointly by providing Strategic Action Plan by various departments like agriculture, Irrigation, IWMP, Forests, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry as well as other allied departments.
He said the calculation of total water budget will be the overall objective of District Irrigation plan.
Mr Malhotra, who was on the tour of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch today was addressing the meetings of agriculture officers of the Department. He also organized training programmes regarding preparation of District Irrigation Plan (DIP) under PMKSY scheme.
The Chief agriculture officers of respective districts and all other officers of the department participated in these training programmes.
During the training programme Mr Malhotra highlighted the objectives of PMKSY schemes and stressed upon providing assured irrigation facilities to achieve the objective of PMSKY scheme Har Khet Ko Pani. Besides, he stressed judicious use of water through micro irrigation system in order to fulfill the aim to achieve “per drop more crop”.
