DODA, Sept 4: A cop of IRP 5th Battalion was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a gorge at Jatti area, falling under the jurisdiction of Assar police station, a police official said.
The deceased has been identified as Tanveer Abass, son of Ghulam Rasool Abass, a resident of Bravi Solki, Tehsil Kalakote, District Rajouri.
His body has been shifted to hospital for postmortem, which will be conducted tomorrow.
Assar police has initiated inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC.
