IRCS, others extend help to flood affected people

JAMMU, Sept 10: Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Jammu has extended all possible help to the needy persons in this hour of distress.
In a statement, Jasmeet Singh, coordinator and publicity secretary, IRCS Jammu said that IRCS, District Branch, Jammu has provided nearly 2500 blankets, 2800 tarpauline, 100 solar-torches and approximately 50 utensils sets. He said that this material has now been kept at the disposal of concerned Tehsildars and SDMs for further distribution to the needy persons.
IRCS appealed to all needy persons to contact their respective Tehsildars and SDMs.
Meanwhile, Care Nature and Environment, under the coordination and guidance Disaster Management wing of Jammu University and Social Organization and Universal Living (SOUL) distributed the relief materials including old clothes, utensils and medicines to the flash flood affected persons at Gujjar Nagar, Lower Gujjar Nagar and Peer Khoo areas.
All the database of victims who have suffered losses in the form of lives and livestock of these three areas has been prepared by the volunteers of Care Nature and Environment, Disaster Wing of Jammu University and SOUL after paying door to door visit of the areas.
A team headed by Ruchi Chouhan Khan, Secretary NGO, K Koushal, member Care Nature and Environment and Vice President SOUL, Shiv Dev Thakur member Care Nature and Environment under the guidance of HoD Disaster Management Wing Jammu University GM Bhat, in collaboration with IRCS and Pardeep Singh Bali, President SOUL distributed the relief materials.
