JAMMU, Nov 13: Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu organized a free diabetes awareness camp on the eve of World Diabetes Day at Canal Road.
The camp was inaugurated by Shantmanu, Divisional Commissioner, Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region and threw light on the subject of Diabetes and how to eradicate it.
Free blood sugar detection tests of morning walkers were conducted on the spot by a team of Red Cross Lab Technicians under the supervision of the Doctors namely Dr Vikas Chandel, MD Medicine and Dr Rohini Bhan, Medical Officer Red Cross Dispensary. More than 160 tests were conducted and the general public particularly morning walkers were awared about the silent killing disease (Diabetes) and its preventive measures as the menace of diabetes is fastly gripping the people in large.
The camp was organized under the supervision of Secretary RC Puri.
Among others present were Navneet Kour, executive member of Indian Red Cross Society, Region Jammu, Sadiq Nargal, President, Morning Walkers Association, Canal Road and Gurpreet Singh from Cipla Pharmaceutical Limited Jammu.
